Hey there stranger, it's me.
Okay okay, I know I've been bad and haven't posted anything in quite a while. I've been busy, I really have. No I didn't train a monkey to build a house (I'M SORRY!!!) but I have started building that rocket to Mars soooo... No but really I've been quite sick and had this massive project on the French Revolution, but I do think you should here about this experience at the Nagoya botanical gardens and the zoo. So here we goooooo... So I woke up. Not ready for animals, not ready for plants. What I was ready for was just a simple day inside and I got an outing. We saw plants of all kinds when we entered the botanical gardens. I loved it. You just felt so peaceful and ready for nature. It was like breathing in something fresh but different from food fresh. It was just air but it felt magical. Yeah magical air okay? Sue me. The trees were so so beautiful and they had such lovely flowers. The smell they emitted was just the most wonderful feeling. When we wandered down the steps we could see mountains and plants all around us. I suggested we sit at a bench and then when we did it was just silence. Eery silence, but a silence that was also comforting and peaceful. Later on when we had gathered our bearings from the bench and went on to a rose garden bursting with beautiful roses! There were thorny ones, delicate ones and simply radiant ones. I loved the way they smelled and I loved that there was a waterfall behind the garden. And there was a lookout type of place where you had a really beautiful view of the place. Before we moved on, we stopped by a food truck and got some yummy french fries but they were extra long and looked like giraffe tongues but uh french fries. The first animal we saw at the zoo was a crane and right behind it was a giraffe.I thought this was strange since you don't usually associate these animals with each other but even weirder was the ostrich in the giraffe enclosure! After that we saw some koalas in an indoor enclosure. They never looked at me so either they were sleeping or were upset I wasn't food. I mean, wouldn't you be? After that we saw some flippy penguins and seals. Well some of the seals were flippy but most just lay there as seals do. And the penguins were really quite something. They were going so fast I lost count how many times they went around and around! They were amazing. I guess I need to watch Happy Feet a couple more times. Get caught up on my penguin knowledge. Now to the pink category. Yes the PINK category!! We saw some wonderful pink flamingoes and some white ones too because they were just little. They were impressing some photographers and the one I call Kenny was very pleased with the camera's attention. That's not all! There was also a type of pink pelican. He was short and funny and pink. Piiiink. I think that was one of the cool ones! We proceeded to see lions, bears, rhinos, elephants, deer, otters, and monkeys! The monkeys were very cool. So cool, I must tell you about the jumpy ones. I have no clue what they are called but they kept jumping all over their enclosure and bouncing from branch to branch. The one I call Martin even pushed one of his buddies off! There were two fighting over a paper bag and a baboon with a paper bag he pulled everywhere he went. Then there was rainbow but. Rainbow butt was like something out of a si-fi movie. His whole butt was rainbow coloured and he had a very interesting face! He might've been my favourite:) The coolest one was a hippo at the end! He was very scary and quite magnificent. I think he was just spectacular!! The greatest moment was when he opened his mouth so wide all of a sudden and scared me so much that I jumped. All in all, it was a magnificent day full of fun! I'm so so SOOOOO sorry for not blogging in so long but I've been sick as a dog and busy as a beaver. I will try to keep posting more often. Peace out butter puffs, Olivia xx P.s. Check out the pictures on my November page!
